Alexandra (Alex) Cavasini, Graduate Associate

Supervised by Lauren Masciarelli, MA, LPC-S, LMFT-S

Alex Cavasini, a graduate student at Liberty University specializing in individual, couple, and family counseling, is dedicated to guiding individuals toward self-discovery and mindfulness. In collaboration with clients, she strives to create a therapeutic space that encourages healing, cultivates a sense of well-being, and empowers individuals to show up as their best selves. Alex acknowledges the courage it takes to seek therapy, viewing it as a powerful indicator that transformation is on the horizon.

Originally from Ohio and having spent the last six years in Austin, Alex resonates with her Midwestern roots while considering Austin home. Over her 12-year career in Human Resources, she has gained valuable experience working with diverse populations. In her therapeutic approach, Alex empathizes with individuals navigating the complexities of internal struggles, relationships, education, careers, and life's uncertainties. Acknowledging that life's challenges rarely stem from a single factor, she views counseling as a comprehensive process, drawing from family systems and narrative therapy. Alex places great importance on listening to clients, granting them autonomy to define and pursue their own goals.

Beyond her roles at Austin Family Institute and Liberty, Alex seeks solace in the "little moments" that make life meaningful. Whether spending time hiking with her dog “Syrup”, partaking in barre classes as she believes that movement is critical for a healthy mind, or expressing creativity through cooking, Alex wants her clients to also uncover their own "little moments”.
