COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update (02/09/2023):
AFI masking policies:
Travis County’s Covid Indictor/Community Level Chart will be checked regularly, and AFI’s Covid-19 guidelines will be updated as follows:
LOW - no masks required if you are not currently in the recovery window where masks are recommended by the CDC.
MEDIUM - masks will be required
HIGH - only essential in-person sessions will occur and the rest will be moved to telehealth until we return to MEDIUM

Austin Family Institute is taking multiple precautions to ensure the health and well-being of our clients and clinicians. As of 04/04/2022, we have resumed offering in-person/in-office sessions while continuing to offer telemental health sessions for both new and existing clients. Please see below for more information:
We serve an immunocompromised population and have immunocompromised staff members. If you are not feeling well or if you have been exposed to someone with Covid-19, please call us to change your appointment to telehealth. All late rescheduling fees are waived for this situation.
If you have tested positive for Covid-19, please refrain from entering the Austin Family Institute suite for 5 days after testing positive or until your symtpoms have resolved, whichever is longer. In addition, we ask that you mask for an additional 5 days per CDC guidelines.
If you have been in close contact with someone who was diagnosed with Covid-19, but you are symptom free, please refrain from entering our office until you have tested negative for Covid-19, no less than 5 days after your last contact with said person.
To cancel or reschedule sessions, please call the AFI office at (512) 329-6611 or contact your therapist directly. Our administrative staff is accepting calls Monday-Thursday 9 AM to 4 PM and we will have on-call staff taking messages after hours.
